I have been having dizziness on and off since the onset of bp. Is this a normal reaction to have with bp. Sometimes I also feel that the other side of my face is weak and tingling. I am fearful that its going to happen on the other side as well. Any information will be helpful Thankyou.

jorama, I missed this post. I am sorry no one responded. Has the dizziness subsided? I had dizziness with mine too. I was having dizzy spells alittle prior to onset and then had it for a bit after. I sometimes get alittle dizzy at times. Doctor said this is normal because of the area where the nerve comes up under the ear drum. It can monkey with our balance but if it does not slow down I would see the doctor. I also seems to have what seems to be weakness and tingling on the other side. I also am getting what seems to be muscle cramps at the jaw on the other side but nothing ever really happens. I get fearful too about the other side but you know if it happens its going to happen we can not control it. Though I think sometimes that the other side of the face has been forced to do so much work that its not used to that it starts to act up. Though if you get too fearful it would not hurt to see the doctor and ask about it. I see the ENT not this coming week but the following and will be asking him about the weird feelings I am feeling on the other side and will let you know. I do think we all become very senstive to anything that goes on with the face and head now that any twitch or anything scares us half to death but you know we made it through with the one side of the face so we are all strong enough and we know what to do if it happens to the other. :-)

Hi Kimberly, the dizziness is on and off. I also have tinnitus which can cause dizziness so between bp and tinnitus, its been double trouble. I have weakness and tingling on the other side and also sometimes I feel pain behind my other ear and now I am scared that its going to happen on the other side, I hope I am just being paranoid. But like you said, if its going to happen its going to happen and there is nothing we can do about it. Let me know what the ent dr. says. I have only been to my regular dr a couple of times, he said that dizziness isnt a part of this and neither is pain, boy these drs go only by the book. I told him that I am on a message board and all of us feel pain from this so that is not true in all cases. A lot of people have pain associated with bp. He said he had it and didnt have pain. I also know someone else who had it and he didnt have pain either. Lucky them. Take care..............

Hi Jorama. I would not bother with that doctor again. Many people have pain. My Neurologist gave me pain killers also in agreement with my gp that nerve regeneration can cause pain and in some people can cause debilitating pain. The hard thing is that none of us is exactly alike in how our bodies handle this so the doctors just don't know what to do with us. I wish I could find a specialist for BP around here but you know there is not much more then can do for me but atleast they would understand what I am going through. I think you might be paranoid like me. I will let you know what they ENT says next week. I do believe though that the other side can get weak because its doing all the work for the other side but I am no specialist with this.

I guess if your doctor had it and didn't have any pain, his one data point trumps the experience of all of us. My doctor didn't know a lot about it but spent some time to research it to learn that all of my symptoms (including pain) are symptoms of bell's palsy.
